All the things

Welcome back to the staff room. School holidays have approached us, and we seem to be going through the same things as everyone else out there, SICKNESS. All of us here at FFT have gone through some bout of illness in some capacity. But the good part is, I think were on the other end of it!

As is always the case, term 2 has flown by, I mean we’re in July apparently, so where did the last 6 months go? But with busy-ness comes many chances of positive experiences for us and the wonderful clients we work with. We got a school-readiness group up-and-running, ran by Luke and Annabel (or awesome new speech pathology student), and met some new families along the way. Continued professional development has also been a big part of our staff room lately. Skye attended a formal education course on self-regulation, Beth attended a seminar on Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and is booked to do a 2-day training course on pretend play development. Luke is working away in the background to create an in-house training course for allied health professionals on how humans process information and use this information to navigate an ever-dynamic world.

We were fortunate enough to run our second community information evening at St Luke’s pre-school in Belmont North where we discussed with parents and educators typical emotional regulation development. We will be running the same thing at Belmont Community Child Care Centre at the end of this month.

Thats a wrap on what’s been going on here in our staff room. As always direct any questions you might have about development or daily living skills to [email protected] or message us on the socials.

Bye for now!
